Born and raised just outside of Toronto,Ontario, I’m the middle child squished between two very annoying, but lovable brothers. I obviously love to read but also enjoy sports and movies (especially pre 1950’s). I graduated from University of Toronto with my Honours Bachelor of Health Science, which I did just because I love biology (more conservation than physiology). But then I was at a loss of what to do with my life. There were so many ways to go that I decided to take a little while and really think about what I wanted to do with my life. When a friend of mine mentioned I would make a perfect librarian, I started to look at what being a librarian entails. I learned one of the primary functions of a librarian is to serve the public. Libraries can be the heart of communities as they provide education, information as well as recreation. Thus librarians should be enjoy helping people and be able to communicate well with the public. Another very important quality of librarian have to possess is the ability to thrive within a technologically changing environment. Librarians should also have an interest in information research, preservation, and instruction.Since I liked what I learned, I applied to the University of Western Ontario’s Masters in Library and Information Sciences program. I got accepted and now I am currently a MLIS student at UWO.
